New corporate typeface for Braun
On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, the German company Braun commissioned LudwigType to develop its new corporate typeface. Braun is particularly well known for its industrial product design from the mid-20th century. It is closely associated with designer Dieter Rams, whose unobtrusive approach and belief in "less but better" design has produced a timeless visual and functional approach. His designs for Braun are legendary and his minimalist design language still influences product design today. Braun’s new corporate typeface takes up both the typical formal elements of Braun design and its fundamental principles: clarity, functionality, harmony. The typeface reflects Braun’s two important product aspects: technical and rational with a focus on the essential, while also being human, friendly and very useable.
