Diogenes Decorative



Diogenes Decorative is the ornate sister of Diogenes and contains a great number of swash characters, alternates and separate swashes. The complete family comes in five weights, each containing seven different fonts. Diogenes Decorative can be used independently or in combination with Diogenes, e.g. for initials or headlines.



Single Font
Entire Family (35 Fonts)

Each weight of Diogenes Decorative comes in 7 different styles each containing various swashes and alternate characters, accessible directly on the keyboard or via Open-Type features.

Uppercase
Uppercase characters can have 2 kinds of swashes: Swashes based on circles and more flourishing swashes. On the left you see Diogenes Decorative Regular 1, on the right Diogenes Decorative Regular 2.

Lowercase
Lowercase characters with ascenders and descenders typically also have swashes. On the left you see Diogenes Decorative Regular 1, on the right Diogenes Decorative Regular 2.

Small Caps
For each weight there are three Small Caps fonts: Small Caps 1 and Small Caps 2 only have swashes in the uppercase characters. All Small Caps fonts have no uppercase characters, but each have two sets of ornate small capitals.

Alternate characters
Diogenes Decorative fonts also contain various alternative characters accessible via the Open Type features: upright fonts No. 2 contain alternatives for c, e, j, k, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, z. Italic No. 1 for a, i, n, m, t, u. Italic No. 2 for a, c, j, p, q, n, m, r, s, t, u, v, w, y. All Small Caps fonts contain alternatives for a, k and r.

Individual swashes
Diogenes Decorative fonts also include separate swashes for word endings. They are not bound to one specific glyph but fit on different characters. The image above shows an upright font (top) and a small caps font (bottom). Italics do not have individual swashes.
